Alan’s new work ‘Fences and Borders’ investigates the physical, natural and mental barriers imposed on us by both society and ourselves .
Having worked in a factory since leaving school Alan started his artistic journey in 2001. Originally from Widnes, Cheshire, Alan is currently living and working in North Wales.
Everyday observation and questioning of our surroundings motivate Alan to work both photographically and with film. He also uses his own written and spoken words.
He has recently worked closely with the community and with the Llandudno IPP project in the form of documentary and the narrative of the history of the old R.A.F.A club the premises that CALL (Culture Action LLandudno) has called home. Alan also documented The FreeHaus Art School in 2016.
IPP (Ideas: People: Places) is an Arts Council Wales initiative that aims to embed the arts in a genuine and meaningful way in a small number of imaginative, ambitious and innovative regeneration project.
‘Fences and Borders’ is available to view in the town between 9th-21st October and forms part of the free festival content available to all.
